WARRNAMBOOL 03:47
Sometimes you gotta get down and emancipate Buy a pad in the country with a rusty gate After counting all the bus numbers round for years Feels like a big truck stuck in angel gear Sounds like you're in limbo But the stick points west So the city kid flies the concrete nest Sweet Alice was raised on the salty breeze She'll take you down there Where the sand blows through your hair Down in Warnambool I heard you got a nice joint with a big spare room As soon as the mercury hits 32 We're coming down to visit you Find you strumming a tune Your favourite spot on the dune Waiting for the whales to swing by in June As soon as the mercury hits 32 Well we're coming down to visit you Pub meal Friday Bain marie Lobster lunch on Tuesday at half-past-three Maybe day trippin' off to Port Fairy Get a lotta use out of your old beanie Computer got games So electronic The fish got scales and they're pentatonic Big country smile behind the poker face Not outta place When you skip the rat race Down in Warnambool I heard you got a nice joint with a big spare room As soon as the mercury hits 32 We're coming down to visit you Find you strumming a tune Your favourite spot on the dune Waiting for the whales to swing by in June As soon as the mercury hits 32 Well we're coming down to visit you Warnambool I heard you got a nice joint with a big spare room As soon as the mercury hits 32 We're coming down to visit you Find you strumming a tune Your favourite spot on the dune Waiting for the whales to swing by in June As soon as the mercury hits 32 Well we're coming down to visit Yes we're coming down to visit Down in Warnambool I heard you got a nice joint with a big spare room As soon as the mercury hits 32 We're coming down to visit you Find you strumming a tune Your favourite spot on the dune Waiting for the whales to swing by in June As soon as the mercury hits 32 Well we're coming down to visit you

TURKEY TRUCK 02:26
Trouble trouble trouble Won't wait much longer This place never calls last drinks A cabbie’s out there somewhere With a story for me And hammering out the Chisel on the Gold 104.3 Yeh I'm calling it a night I'm running outta luck I don’t wanna see the sight Of the Southbound Turkey Truck Gobble Gobble Gobble She wants to talk turkey But he’s acting like a goose Mohair bought a chicken He thought it was a duck Put it on the table With its legs sticking up Yeh I'm calling it a night I'm running outta luck I don’t wanna see the sight Of the Southbound Turkey Truck

about

Following on from the release of their 3rd album ‘In the Wimmera’ in 2020, the Danny Walsh Banned have kept their creative juices flowing with a brand new single recorded at their respective homes during Victoria’s 2nd lockdown.

‘Warrnambool’ is the hit song of the summer all of us need right now. After enduring a year of tough lockdowns and isolation, this song conjures up the dream most of us city-dwellers yearned for in 2020: escaping down the coast to feel the sand between our toes and the sea breeze whipping through our hair.
In fact, ‘Warrnambool’ was written to re-connect with one of our beloved band mates who had dropped off the radar during the pandemic and was planning a move to south-west Victoria, Gunditjmara country.
Co-written and produced by Banned drummer, Andrew Alves (a.k.a. Galax) and featuring Emma Peel on keys (PBS FM, Imperial Leather) this tune presents some new sounds for the Banned with some vintage synthesizer and the catchiest chorus going round.
